Last week was a huge aha moment for me because the busiest of life happened, with so many deadlines, growing responsibilities and unlimited to dos, I realized that I had lost my ground and that I needed to get it back. What I didn’t realize is that I had found it in blogging and had put it aside because of time.
Losing ground can be described as feeling disconnected from yourself. For me, it was a combination of feeling overworked, overwhelmed and exhaustion. And as my New Year’s resolution was connected to being present in the moment (read), staying grounded was key to making sure that I stay true to it.
1) ALWAYS make time for what you love to do. Whether it’s working out, painting, cooking, or blogging in my instance, always set some time aside. This will help you clear your mind from all the worries that are pulling you left right and centre. The first step to this is acknowledging that you need that time. I realized that I enjoy blogging and it helps me put aside everything else going on.
2) SEW: However necessary for survival, people tend to raise the bar every year to how much they forget to SEW. Don’t forget to Sleep, Eat, and drink Water.
3) Clean and Organize: When I’m feeling unbalanced, I find what helps me is to organize my desk, make my bed and put things away in their right spot.
4) Morning Love: Tend to yourself in the morning is key to grounding yourself for the day. Put an outfit together that will make you feel good!
