My something blue
I bought this dress sometime last year in the fall and yes it’s still available! I think there’s a few left!
With a plunging neck line and a high side slit, this slightly too revealing long sleeve maxi dress is one of my favourites of all time. I think I’ve fallen for the romantic feel of the navy blue, the dress shirt detailing of the collar, and the cinching right in between the neckline and the slit. I paired it with a classic ankle strap stiletto, and finished the look with gold and silver accessories. I wore this dress to celebrate a good friend’s wedding day!
What came first? The Dress or The Wedding?
Here are some of my tips for wedding dress shopping (not the white dress kind) because… the dress came first.
- Buy Now Wear Later – Avoid scrambling to find the perfect dress to your best friend’s wedding a week before the big day. If you see a dress you absolutely love now but you don’t necessarily have an occasion to wear it yet, think ahead, and there probably might be another big event just around the corner.
- Chase the Sale – Summer is the season of weddings but fall is the season for finding great deals on some great dresses!
- Love rather than Like – Sometimes what you’re “looking for” comes when you’re not looking at all. I wasn’t looking for anything specific, yet when I stumbled upon the LIONESS dress, I knew I “loved” it (and still do!) despite yet the occasion for it.
- Keep it Classic – Keeping it timeless is key to repeating the dress year after year
