If you’re reading this, you’ve been known to impulse shop, to shop till you drop, to spend on things you want rather than things you need. We have all been there… And who are we kidding if we think we can stop? Probably not happening, but here are some tips to help save and not end up with a closet like mine.
1 Wait three business days…
I would say the hardest to follow but the most rewarding. If you know it’s slightly too much, and you’re not absolutely sure, simply wait. Go home, wait 3 business days, and if then you still really want it. Theres no stopping you.
2 Be THAT Girl.
Yup I said it, and I’m proud of it. I am THAT girl. The one searching through the sale rack, looking for the best deal. If you’re going to shop, now is not the time to be lazy… Would you rather be that girl that bought it at regular price or THAT girl that saved 50% off!!! “Ugh I can’t believe you found this regular price!” said no one ever.
3 Splurge more on classics and less on trends
Trends are like the popular pink Motorola Razrs we all used to have, collecting Beanie Babies, or that last tinder date… It just doesn’t last. Splurging on pieces that will last longer than one season and saving on pieces that are only “cool” right now but not tomorrow is a great way to save when spending.
4 Shop vintage
It’s worth it. Especially when you find a pair of the classic Calvin Klein Jeans that so happen to be perfectly your size and your favourite wash!
