2 WAYS TO LAYER A SHIRT DRESS

Officially Fall, yet the weather in Toronto seems to disagree. With the cold and rainy weather of what was Summer ’17, these past few hot weeks have been our saving grace. And with this transition to fall, it’s a great time to explore layering pieces, and Summer to Fall Workwear. See below 2 of my favourite ways to wear this classic shirt dress (Exact Item Here)

Keep your outfits classic and timeless, with just a touch of edginess.

Layer a classic black faux leather mini skirt to the white shirt dress.  Have a little fun and show off the bottom of the dress by wearing it higher than your waistline to emphasize the skirt as a standout piece.

Complete the look with any pair of black boots, booties or over the knees. The black over the knee pair well with the faux leather skirt.

It’s all about the details when it comes to fashion

The Zara strapless checked corset top (Exact Item Here), is a great piece on its own, but an even better piece to layer over a classic shirt dress in the fall or over a black turtleneck in the winter.

TREND ALERT: Plaid is making a comeback this fall and the checked (slightly oversized) grey blazer has everyone checking out their basket with one of these! (see here, & here) The corset is a fun spinoff and summer mimic of this latest trend.

A great money saving trick is to re-use summer pieces to extend during the fall season and even into year round office attire. The black faux leather mini skirt and the grey checked strapless corset top are great transitional pieces to fall and winter.
